The scissor tailed fly catchers are very shy about humans so they tend to fly away at the slightest hint of approach. Many of the images are not clear since the closest they will let you approach is about 200 ft. and even then they will fly off. A clear photo is a rarity. They are very fast and scoop up flies and insects from the cattle field at sundown. The reddish tones of the sun tend to enhance their colors.
