Painted Buntings are said to be timid shy birds that are rarely seen at feeders so we were lucky enough to have this pair as daily guests during summer and early fall in 2006. The female returned May 2007 but the male has not shown up yet. They are definitely quick birds so very difficult to take clear photos.
